The Two Center is the most important single person needed for these blogs. SOS is same old shit in blogging. If I say blue, blue and then I say blue. That is SOS. You come around and in next Monday's blog you say "green." Wow, that is not SOS. Ya Dig? A different point of view a different opinion. And opinions are like noses, everyone has got one. And that is will make our blogs into Social Dance blogs. When you do this for some time and see that the results are good you may decide you want to be Guest Blogger. Wot dat?

instead where there is no path and leave a trail. "

DAL Midweek, June 25th.

I am learning the trick of not neglecting my blogs and let them turn into a stale web site. Blogs are nothing more than content management systems. A blog makes it possible for a reader/dancer to read content and "add" content to a site without having to worry about page design issues. Just send by Email, pictures, items of interest and the name of the author. The whole world can now see your creation - if they care to. Irregardless of the levels of dance knowledge, our blogs need someone that can communicate in writing.

"Social dancing allows people to feel more refreshed and more relaxed,
sharpening one’s skills and increasing agility."

The blogs have no need for candidates for the Pulitzer prize. It helps but not necessary if you got an A in English composition. All you really need, to be an information contributor, is to be able to write a note of communication from you (one person) to a reader/dancer (one person) of the blog, preferably about dancing. My stats are quite clear on that. That is the only simple requirement. And if in the process you convey your opinion in print for others to see, it is icing on the cake for the entire dance community.

"Molokai Waltz" by Amy Hanaialii

Yes, I know, most possibles do not know this - yet. But it is looking good though many are leery of a commitment. Who can we get? To start with, the most indicated are the long time American Style dance teachers. They have accumulated plenty of dance information throughout the years that could be of terrific help for the majority of us, specially now that our hits are increasing daily. The reader/dancers have been starving for this kind of thing. This blog will be scheduled for twice per week, the MidWeek and the Weekly on Saturday with calendar week events, Sunday through Saturday.

As owner of this blog I am the administrator by default but I invite new blood willing to share their pearls of dance info with our fellow dancers. Just email whatever and I will post to which ever blog you choose. If you like it, you may decide you want to be a Guest Blogger and it will be your decision, no commitments. You can open, write, insert photos, delete, publish and close, all without saying boo to anyone. In our case, the plan is to eventually make each blog independent from the original administrator. If I can get enough Guest Bloggers, I can resign and they can make their own rules.

DAL Midweek, June 18th.

With a population of about one million, the island of Oahu is quite varied. The bad is that Honolulu runs it mostly for their benefit. Still the population is spreading out to the shores around the island. Dancers are increasing in West Oahu and the big difficulty is finding a place to dance. Social dancers would rather not dance in Malls, Gas stations and the Streets. School cafeterias, District Parks and Community Centers are fine if they have a half way decent dance floor.

"Social dancers know that in Night Clubs, the two most interchangeable
steps are from the American FoxTrot -- American Rumba,
the biggest difference is in the body action."

Welcome to Dance And Live blog! We are trying to find most of the “local community dances” for Social Dancers on the Island of Oahu. This weekly calendar should cover dancing on the island but notices of neighbor island dancing would be nice too. Hope you will eventually find most weekly events covered here. Only public events with available dances will be listed. Submit events by email and a photo might be gravy. It should be the responsibility of the dancers to verify that an event is still available prior to attending. Spread the word for your favorite location and this blog will thrive by sharing this information with our fellow dancers.

Amazing that this blogging is holding up pretty good in average hits per day. And just with what little information I can pick up without "intruding." And with a couple of groups just ignoring us, feedback will still do wonders for any of our blogs. I am beginning to make contact with some that understand my physical shortcomings and need of invitation so that I will not "intrude." We will have more and better quality of information to share with the readers. And when we get posters, wow, the hits will go through the roof.

In the early 1900s, the most popular social dance of the time was the One-Step
now known as the Even Step. The dance consisted of couples taking one
step on each beat of the music, so even beginners could participate.

DAL Midweek, June 12th.

It is pretty definite now that the five blogs are at the point of diminishing returns. The fact is that I cannot get around very easily and not enough feedback to spread the word. I am in the process of changing the name of the Dancing in the Dark blog. There are two very popular songs with the same name, cluttering up the search engine information. So I will test "Social Dancers."

"A day without sunshine is like, - well, - night."

American style of dance and social dancing is emerging very nicely in this century. International is still good world wide. However, the American style is doing increasingly well in Europe and in England, the headquarters of the International style. It is becoming more evident that there is one studio that consistently puts out the best International style dancers on the island of Oahu. We are talking results not theories. May surprise you as to who is at the bottom of the pile. So what do I know? I am a slow learner. I cannot do what one person tells me to do. But I can certainly hear what many of you say and then I must move accordingly.

"Moliendo Cafe" por Azucar Moreno

Blogging on these islands is over a couple decades on Oahu and Web and Blog sites are still not widely used. The ones that have counters do not have many hits. Much of that, is that Dancers, are not very much into using a computer. There is still no trace of Team Blogging in the entire state, a feature that has enabled multiple bloggers to manage a single Blog. The technique of having Multiple authors to manage a Blog is very popular these days on the Mainland. And that is my goal, to get rid of my best blog, Town Dancer.

"May you always have: Beauty for your eyes to see - Comfort on difficult
days - Smiles to brighten your day - Rainbows to follow the clouds -
Love to fill your life and Faith during your lowest moments."

"Social dancers think that eighty percent of success is just showing up."

DAL Midweek, June 4th

Well the stats are improving and we should be doing alright for another month, but I do not know yet. I will just keep trying to make contact with the dancers in the dance scene on Oahu. The most important people at the moment are the Two Centers. Those willing to contribute their 2 cents of dance information or photos and share it with our fellow dancers on these blogs. No obligations or commitments, it is just there whenever you wish to share. The reader/dancers will have reason to take a look-see into these blogs. I also use Twitter and Facebook to spread the word.

"Social dancers know that music can actually refine your movement skills by improving your timing, coordination and rhythm just by enjoying the dance."

Anyone that emails will surely understand what they can or should do, For most of what is posted, we want the name of the person responsible good or bad for the posting. It is their opportunity to get "their" opinion in. Since I live in Mililani now, I favor the area because it is mostly virgin territory. Now I can tell you of a real valuable photo. It is the one you got Saturday night at the dance with four or five of your good friends enjoying the dance environment.

"My Molokai" by Willie K

That is a blogging photo. One dear to you and your friends and probably your fellow dancers, whether they were there or not. That is not just a photo "to whom it may concern." We are trying to establish social media here. Then of course it is coming that people will be willing to share their photos with their fellow dancers in a blog. Most of the photos are taken with a digital camera, so it is not too difficult to email the photo to the blog of your choice. So mail it in, that one special photo that you like and share it with your fellow reader/dancers.

"Social dancers know that they are not a product of their circumstances.
They are a product of their decisions."

Week Ending Saturday, June 8th, 2019

The good news that we seem to have lost most of the scam spam robot hits that kept our average hits per day quite high. Luckily I still have one outsider blog that still carries a hit counter and they are still in second place behind Town Dancer. The bad news is that we have definitely reached the point of diminishing returns with only me Blogging. That is referred to in blogging as SOS (same old shit.) Anyone that comes in as Guest Blogger will get hits simply because he or she is no longer SOS.

In the last century, a term was invented. "Junk Dancer." Now, you tell me
what a man, who is just starting to believe he can actually do
this dancing thing, is supposed to think of that!?
