We have so many good dancers among our social dancers that many of them are good enough to do excellent exhibitions. It helps that the entire dance group has continuous response data to provide choreographers information about the local audiences' perception of their dance material. Surface features of dance contribute to audience arousal. Audience members continuously indicate their arousal while continuously judging valence and emotion portrayed by the dance. Researchers compared this to choreographic notes about emotions expressed during the piece and found that arousal was related to changes in music and dancer activity

And wow, one of them was really salted."

Successful dance blogging on Oahu is partially dependent on posting frequency and providing updated, fresh information, it's a perfect way to stay abreast of the events in our specific field of social dance. Unfortunately, it is mostly me and that is not enough. This is  being done without even publicly pushing the blog content, so I can just use blogging in this way as a self-help continium to keep my mind sharp. However, keeping the content online for others to see can help because I might run into a reader/dancer who can correct me or help me build my content in one way or another. And the end game of having some social dancers take over my best blog.

Improve Your Social Life: As the name suggests, social dancing on Oahu improves your social life. Joining a dance class will allow you to interact with new people every week and you will meet more people each time you go out. Lucky you have so many choices on Oahu, Dance studios, dance clubs and even night clubs. You will find it easy to meet people while dancing and an amazing way to make new friends, and increase your social circle. As another bonus, social dancing can help to prevent feelings of loneliness –due to the sociability of dancing with a partner

All I can do is provide the platform. With enough Guest Bloggers on one blog we can average many hits per day. From there it is easy to make the blog into an independent entity and the hits will go through the roof. I am not going live forever, so I can resign and devote my time to the "Junk" blogs. Right at this moment, with more information coming in from West Oahu, we are setting a perfect example. Communication to and from the reader/dancers is of prime importance. We do not exist for any other reason. We are going to be Social Media one of these days.

Web sites are all over this Island and they are set up meticulously and then updated periodically whenever the Web Masters are so inclined, and most are very beautiful. I am trying to set this Weekly Calendar blog on a periodic basis, starting every Sunday with a midweek blog for extras. It can update news on the other blogs and introduce newcomers in whatever dancing action we can get for the coming week. It is already piling up some hits though more than half are spam, scam robot hits and the search engines. Hopefully we can get some information contributors that are willing to get their feet wet for any of the blogs.

is finding the perfect dance partner.”

Wahiawa Ballroom Dance Club’s theme dances have proven to be successful. Interesting themed music that surrounds you with the atmosphere, mixed with your old time favorites have a way of lifting you off into a flight of a most beautiful dance experience.

DAL Midweek, March 12th.

I really do not know what is holding up this blog. It is doing well in the hits. However there is little up to date information so we need that from the Two Centers. A person willing to share their 2 cents of good places to enjoy and have a good time. We have lot of dances on Oahu. but we cannot guarantee that the information in this blog is accurate, complete, reliable, or up to date. I get very little official information so I help where I can. Some events may be canceled, others may have a cover charge, so it is best to confirm the event if you are planning to attend by contacting either the band/venue directly prior to going. If your are lucky and already a fan of Wahiawa Ballroom Dance Club, you know you are right.

"One difference in the faults of the young and ours.
They will probably outgrow theirs."

Meanwhile, back at the ranch in Mililani we have Central Valley wide open because I can get to it faster using the Handi Van. This blog that has been bouncing around for awhile and it has been getting an increase in hits weekly. (weakly?) We have three very good areas for entertainment. Waipio, Mililani and Wahiawa. Ahead is Wahaiwa Ballroom Dance Club and Dot's In Wahiawa, restaurant and night club. There is not much in this sector yet and there will be dancing in Waipio or Mililani this year, I am sure. I will eventually find a steady Information Contributor about dancing and perhaps get them interested in being a Guest Blogger. Once that is done, this blog is in.

Dancing, that is. moving to some kind of beat and the sound of a musical instrument began about ten thousand years ago but is was all "solo." Then about one thousand years ago, they began to dance in pairs, boy and girl. But both just holding one hand of their partner, and "embracing" each other at the beginning and at end of the dance. A couple centuries later, nobles and wealthy patricians danced as couples in procession in a slow dignified manner in a circle. Farmers and lower classes of society danced turning in a lively, springing fashion. So are we ready for line dancing? They teach it at the Wahiawa Recreation Center.

"Social dancers try to learn from the mistakes of others, they will
never live long enough to make them all by themselves."

Amazing that this blog is getting so many hits. Why? Nothing is really here yet, just a sample of something that may evolve into a good blog eventually with the help of the "outsiders." If you got something going that might interest the dancers, email it and I will post it. I am physically impaired and I cannot get around much anymore so this blog would be perfect for four or five people that do get around. They would make this a first class dance publication. My special interests are in helping the many good people in those dance organizations that do not have a Web site.

DAL Midweek, March 5th.

This blog is evolving very nicely as an addition to the weekly directory of what the week has to offer for us. I try to cover the calendar week from Sunday to Saturday and I try to publish it every Saturday. It is a work in process and we welcome anyone who is willing to share the week's information with our readers.  I personally cannot get around much anymore but I can blog'em. If am invited, I shall make every effort to be there and blog'em. Hopefully I can get some help to make it a full fledged blog.

"Some dance to remember and some dance to forget,
Social dancers just dance for fun."

Received from Maile Yagi

We will continue with our blogs, "of the dancers, by the dancers and for the dancers" and of course this does not include all the dancers. All the blogs will recap each other now and then but they will also have items of music and food. So if you something of interest and willing to share it with our fellow dancers, email it in. Photos you think may be good for this particular blog, send it in with a few appropriate remarks and it will probably be published. Same thing for straight information covering dancing.

"Love Song" by Taimane Gardner

Our blogosphere is just about as far as it can go with such a small piece of the action on Oahu. You looking for exact figures, I ain't got'em. But I need feedback for this kind of blogs. Now how do we get more readers? There is only one way. The addition of "Two Centers." those willing to share their 2 cents with our reader/dancers for the benefit of all. We must make the blogs definitely different from other and each with its own audience and then the gradual independence of each blog. Independence would guarantee our blogosphere going upwards to perhaps 80% of the action which should be quite enough and a lot more dancers expressing their views.

And they just have to say that they have an affinity for Bossa Nova.”

Any blogs that would like an exchange of links can communicate by email and we have five blogs so you choose one or all. You can also send data you wish posted in any of our blogs, photos, dance information, and anything else that may be of interest to the readers..The main thing is let our dance gang on Oahu know about our dance gang on Oahu. And our gang is increasing day by day and remains in process. That is why we will eventually evolve independent blogs and each one with several Guest Bloggers. Our special interests are in helping the many good people in those dance organizations that do not have a Web site.
